Final Hours…

We have about 13 hours before NaNoWriMo 2009 comes to a close… and while some of you have already finished (congrats!!!), I know there are a few of you just on the cusp of winning or at least just about to hit your personal goal for the year.

You can do it! Don’t give up… set aside a few hours today and write as much as you can, and even if you don’t make it, you made the attempt… and you have more words now than you did at the beginning of November. And that’s something to be proud of!

There’s an unofficial write-in today at the Blue Dog around 1pm, so head on over to the forums and read Negasi’s post about when he’ll be there (and let him know if you’re coming too!).

See you on the other side… :)

Final Friday Write-In!

Come on out to the Friday afternoon write-in at the Blue Dog, running from 1-4pm!

Need to get that extra 10,000 or 5,000 words (or more?) out before the end of the month? We’ll word war it up so you can make some serious progress?

Don’t think you’ll make 50k? That’s alright! Set a goal for yourself that you want to hit by the 30th, and keep writing!

See you this afternoon!

Final Wednesday Write-In of the Year!!!

Okay, people…

Tonight is the last Wednesday Write-in of NaNoWriMo 2009!

You know you want to be there. You know you need to boost your word count. You know you want to Word War It Up and win some fun prizes!

Wear a wacky hat in honor of tonight. Come prepared to write like it’s the last thing you’ll do… well, tonight anyway.

See you there. Blue Dog. 7-10pm. UPSTAIRS ROOM!

Write-In TODAY @ Laurier!

We have a relaxing Sunday afternoon write-in scheduled today, from 1:30-4:30pm over at the Laurier building.

They have ridiculously comfortable couches!!! So, you know you want to be there.

I’ll put a sign on the door since it’s locked, just knock loudly and one of us will run down to the door to let you in!

Write-In TODAY! Happy Friday :)

We have another write-in today from 1pm-4pm, at the fabulous Blue Dog Cafe.

By the end of today, your goal should be: 33,340k words.

Are you close?!?

Write-In… Tomorrow!

Hey Super Wrimos!

We have another write-in tomorrow night, and once again it’s Wacky Hat Wednesday!

As usual, we run from 7-10pm at the Blue Dog Cafe.

Tomorrow night will be extra special, though… someone is coming from the Brant News to do an interview with me for an online news piece, and may ask for a few volunteers to give their own impressions of NaNo. I believe he’d also like to get some shots of us at work… so if you can be there on time and be a part of that, it would be fantastic! It would be great to have the kind of turnout we did last week. :)

Also… if you don’t want to put on your Wacky Hat until after he’s gone, that’s perfectly understandable! LOL

Check Your Brant News!

This week in the Brant News, there’s an article from our FIRST 50K WINNER Mary, all about NaNo & her experience! Check page 25 for the article.

Congrats on the win, and thank you for helping raise awareness about NaNoWriMo in our region!

Write-In #6: Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, we meet at the Laurier Student Center from 1:30pm-4:30pm!

I (your ML) will not be attending, but I hope everyone who can attend, will… and gets lots of writing done!!! We’re halfway there, everyone… there’s been lots of excellent progress made thus far, and we still have 15 days to go.

Keep on writing!

Write-In #4: Tonight @ the Blue Dog + Wacky Hats!!!

We have another write-in tonight @ the Blue Dog, 7pm-10pm… and it also happens to be… WACKY HAT WEDNESDAY!!! Wear a wacky hat… you won’t be alone, so it won’t be weird, promise!

If you’ve never been to one of our write-ins before, here’s a quick recap of how it goes:

First two hours are for writing

Last hour is for socializing (or continued writing, if you so desire!)

During any of those hours, you’re free to challenge someone to a word war of any length! We’ll have at least one that’s “official” — meaning you can win a prize — but go ahead and challenge away!

We also have a donation jar that sits in the middle of the table, for those who feel so inclined to give to NaNoWriMo. Donations will be tallied at the end of the event (at TGIO) and sent in under our region’s name! You can also donate online, if you feel led to give that way.

*** If you arrive and don’t see us downstairs, don’t panic! Look at the wall by the back stairs — if we’re up there, there will be a poster telling you there are ‘Novelists at Work’ up there. We may or may not be able to book the room tonight, depends if it’s in use or not.

Above all… write-ins are fun… and you want to be there!!!

Write-In #3: Tomorrow!

Tomorrow we have our third write-in, held from 1:30-4:30pm at the Student Union lounge (Laurier Brantford). Pop on over to the forums for directions to the building, and how to get to the room once you’ve made it in the building.

There will be lots of comfy couches, and presumably plenty of PLUGS!

Note that while there are vending machines in the lounge, if you want to drink coffee or tea, buy it and bring it with you (or bring a travel mug from home!).

Meanwhile, congrats to the winners of our first two word-wars:

Write-In #1: 15-minute word war — My_Zombie_and_Me

Write-In #2: 15-minute word war — (laptop group) Riffti & (handwriting group) Brenda

Congrats on your hard work! See some of you tomorrow for the start of week #2!
